Community Involvement
As a service, we value the close relationship we have with the community we serve; this is accomplished through a strong commitment to remaining active and involved beyond answering regular 911 calls. This includes participation in area events such as parades, health fairs, station tours, EMS week activities, event standby's, safety courses, and various other opportunities. We utilize this time to connect with people of all age groups. It is an opportunity to provide community education on general health topics and concerns through blood pressure checks, distribution of flyers and informational pamphlets, and conversation with the crews. This allows us to remain more visible and gives the public an opportunity to learn more about what we do on a day-to-day basis.
We also recognize the importance of educating the community in acute life-saving measures. We have a number of EMT's on our service who are certified American Heart Association CPR and Stop The Bleed instructors. If you or a group would like to schedule a day to meet with EMTs or for a tour, or to inquire about a safety course, contact us and we would be happy to set up a time. We welcome any opportunity to connect with those we serve. |
